President Uhuru Talks About Possibilities of Another COVID-19 Lockdown & Curfew Amid Virus Mutation

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday gave his state of the nation address from the Parliament

The meeting was attended by lawmakers from both houses and other top leaders, among them Deputy President William Ruto, Opposition Leader Raila Odinga, Chief Justice Martha Koome and former Vice Presidents, Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka.

While addressing the big achievement his administration has done since 2013, President Uhuru also talked about the deadly COVID-19 that has been troubling the nation since 2020 when the first case was reported in the country.

President Uhuru noted that country's economy recorded a positive growth rate regardless of the pandemic, and even when other countries' economies were sinking.

More so, the President noted that the country is still at war with the pandemic, adding that no one is safe when the pandemic is still around.

President said the government made tremendous measures to curb the spread of the virus, which also ensured that the country's economy stayed intact.

However, President Uhuru has hinted there will be no other lockdown and curfews in the country regardless of the emerging of the new mutating virus.

"Covid will not be defeated by locking us all down. No one will be safe from Covid until we are all safe, "tumefanya kazi, msitufungie tena jameni" President Uhuru Kenyatta said
