Herman Manyora Alleges Why Mudavadi Has Less Power

After President William Ruto read out the different roles and duties allocated to the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and the chief cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi, some experts opined that the roles were almost the same and overlapping.

However, linguistics lecturer professor at the University of Nairobi and political commentator Herman Manyora has a different view of issues concerning the DP and the Chief Cabinet Secretary.

According to Manyora, Mudavadi was shortchanged and played to think that his office has power when in real sense his hands are tied and has only one role. "Apart from coordinating government legislative agenda across all ministries and state departments, his other roles are assigned to Mr Gachagua," said Manyora.

According to Manyora, the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has the original jurisdiction to execute all other roles assigned to Mudavadi. "He was given duplicate roles. This means that Mudavadi will have no power to execute them without Gachagua's node," said Mudavadi.

Additionally, Mr Manyora said that Mudavadi's role of coordinating government legislative agenda must also get through the cabinet where Gachagua sits as the chair
