Kenya and Tanzania are next-door neighbors and the death of President Magufuli has opened more opportunities for the two to strengthen their relationship. The two countries work together to strengthen their economic and social bonds.
The East African countries are mourning the departed Tanzanian president John Pombe Magufuli who died on Wednesday night after struggling with Heart problems. Kenya has been in the frontline to send condolences to the family and the country as a whole. The kenyan president on Thursday ordered the national flag and the East African flag to be flown half mask for 7 days to mourn Magufuli.
The vice president Suluhu is expected to be Sworn in as the new president according to the constitution. Uhuru is expected to work closely with Suluhu in strengthening the bond between Tanzania and Kenya interns of trade and social relations. Kenyatta who is in his last of year of his final term has been working to leave a legacy by ensuring peace and building relationships.
The president was not always in good terms with Magufuli since most of times they held different opinions. Magufuli was one man who never liked being directed. It will therefore be easy working with Suluhu.
