As the DPP closes the murder case, CS Aisha Jumwa prepares to throw the bodyguard under the bus.

Thursday, December 1, 2022 - The Director of the Attorney General's Office (DPP) has demanded an end to the assassination of Minister of Civil Service Aisha Zumwa. This confession was made in a virtual trial by Supreme Court Justice Ann Oneginjo.

Because of this, the DPP demanded that Jumwa testify as a government witness against his bodyguard, rather than as a suspect. However, Judge Ong Jin-jo expressed dissatisfaction with the way the application was submitted and set an official date for the application to be submitted to the DPP. DPP Nurdin Hadji agreed to the request of Jumwa's former lawyer to drop charges against Aisha Jumwa. Zumwa will appear in person at the court hearing on December 21

CS Jumwa is accused of killing Gumbao Jola along with a bodyguard following an altercation at a polling station in Kilifi in 2019. However, the cs has consistently distanced itself from the deaths of its victims.

If the facts are confirmed, this will be the second case in less than two months after CS was fired. In October, the DPP dropped charges against Jumwa in a case that Jumwa misappropriated 19 million from the Malindi Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
