From years to months to days and now it's only four days for residents of Bomet county residents to decide who will it be. The race has attracted three candidates but narrowed to a two horse race that's between the former governor Hon. Isaac Rutto and the incumbent governor Prof. Hillary Barchok who is facing a toughest competition to defend his seat.
Mr. Rutto attempted to defend his seat in 2017 elections but unsuccessfully lost it to the late Joyce Laboso the Jubilee's candidate, Mr. Rutto the party leader of CCM was the first governor of the county and also the first chair of governors in 2013. The failure of Mr. Rutto was linked with deputy president Dr. Ruto who campaign against him.
For Mr. Rutto it will not be a walk in the park to dethrone Prof. Hillary Barchok based on the following reasons Mr. Barchok is defending his seat with UDA ticket which is associated with Dr. Ruto as the party leader and also his projects he started after succeeding the late Joyce Laboso will give him an opportunity to defend his seat. As compared to Mr. Rutto who's making a political gamble by campaigning against UDA's candidate in the county.
