Raila on The Spot Over Controversial Mau Remarks in Narok (Video)

ODM boss Raila Odinga has been faulted over alleged ethnic profiling remarks made on Sunday while on his campaign trails in Narok Stadium in Narok county.

This was after Raila, while giving his address, was accused of allegedly profiling the Kipsigis community living in Narok, claiming they will destroy Mau forest once their man, William Ruto gets into power.

According to Raila, Maasai people should avoid voting for William Ruto as the next president since his people will go back into Loita and Mau forests. He warned them saying 'they' are waiting for their man to be voted in before they can creep back to the forest zones and destroy trees.

"Wanasema wanasubiri mtu wao aingie kwa serikali warudi ndani ya Mau tena, mtakubali?Kura ikienda pande ile, msitu ya Mau imekwisha vile vile loita Forest. Sisi tutahifadhi lakini wao wataharibu (They are waiting for their tribe man to get in so that they can go back to the forest. If you vote for them, Mau and Loita forests will be no more. We will conserve but they want to destroy it) stated Raila.

Many accused Raila of profiling the Kipsigis community, an act that might cause animosity between the two tribes living in Narok county.
