Waiguru Reveals A Change In How Mt Kenya Residents Will Vote After Ruto Was Warned

The deputy president made a three day tour to Nyeri where he campaigned for his 2022 presidential bid and bottom up economic approach.

Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui in what seemed to be an indirect attack on deputy president, warned him not invest alot of resources in the region since the residents will vote based on real issues.

"These are the real issues that will define choices. Not the number of harambees, roadside shows or token to individuals. History has a strange way of repeating itself," Lee Kinyanjui remarked.

In response to Kinyanjui's message Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru said that this time round they will vote for the deputy president William Ruto as a messanger who they believe will represent their interests.

"While I agree that Mt Kenya wants a leader who will represent their interests- it’s definitely not in the traditional sense.………This time, they will vote with both their heads & hearts; A message they understand and a messenger they feel! @WilliamsRuto," Waiguru remarked.

On the other hand Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang said that the reason the former prime minister Raila Odinga has been campaigning in Mount Kenya region is to change the perception of the residents.

"Raila Odinga has been selling unity & going to the mountain is extremely important because since independence, our children have been conditioned to believe that those who come from Nyanza & the mountain are supposed to be enemies, " Moses Kajwang asserted.
