In the last few days and weeks, there have been fierce and intense fight over the control of Jubilee Party. There have emerged two warring factions with each claiming to be the bona fide owners of the party.
One faction is led by former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni while the other is led by EALA Member of Parliament and former Kieni Member of Parliament, Kanini Kega. The duo are each claiming to be the Secretary General of the party.
What fuelled the infighting further is the alleged coup in recent days where Nominated MP Sabina Chege was installed as the Party leader by the Kega-led faction while former President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta who is believed to be the party leaders being shown the door.
The Kioni-led faction reacted forthwith with Uhuru suspending the rebel members from the former rulling Party while announcing the convention of the top leadership organ of the party to chat the way forward.
As the Jubilee Party woes escalate, President William Samoei Ruto's Legislator has now come to the defence of the former President Uhuru Muigai. Murang'a Women Representative Betty Maina who was elected on UDA party ticket has now boldly warned Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege against fighting Uhuru.
Maina has reminded the duo to stop fighting Uhuru because he is their own since he hails from the Mount Kenya region. She even wondered what has suddenly change to an extend that the two leaders are now fighting the man whom in the recent past they used to urge people to respect.
How and when the fight over the control of the Jubilee Party will come to an end remains to be seen.
