Both Dp Rup and Raila Odinga picked running mates from the Mount Kenya region bearing in mind that this region might decide the outcome of the August elections. At the start of this year, Dp Ruto was enjoying a lot of support while Raila was lagging. However, the ground has quickly shifted since the former prime minister appointed Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua as his running mate.
According to a recent study commissioned by the Standard Group and conducted by TIFA, 49% of Kenyans believe the former Justice Minister will bring in more votes for Raila than Rigathi will for Deputy President William Ruto.
It is estimated that around half of Kenyans believe that Martha Karua will bring in more votes for Raila Odinga in Central Kenya than Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua will bring in for William Ruto.
