The outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to hand over his powers to the new president elect Dr. William Ruto in the few coming days. According to reports, Kenya Defence Force will on Friday, September 9, hold a farewell ceremony for outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Kenyatta is the Commander-In-Chief of the Defence Forces. KDF spokesperson Esther Wanjiku said the event was in line with the military traditions. "This is in line with the military tradition and custom to hold a farewell ceremony for the Commander-In-Chief of Defence Forces," she said. The event will be held at Ulinzi Sports Complex Langata which will proceed to the pulling out of the outgoing Commander-In-Chief at Defence headquarters in Hurlingham, Nairobi.

A lot of leaders are expected in the ceremony as they bid farewell to the president Uhuru Kenyatta for serving our country Kenya for a period of ten years.
