At first the IEBC had communicated to political camps including Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio La Umoja Movement that they were expected to submit the names of running mates on the 28th of April. This has been postponed to Tuesday next week.
The independent commission did so to allow leaders to mourn the death of the Former President Mwai Kibaki who will be buried this Saturday.
Tharaka Nithi County Senator Professor Kithure Kindiki is one man that has been fronted as the ideal running mate of Deputy President William Ruto on countless occasions.
East Africa Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament Simon Mbugua who is also the UDA nominee for the Starehe parliamentary seat recently endorsed the Ruto-Kindiki ticket.
