Uhuru's Controversial Photo Reveals How Kenyan Economy Has Deteriorated Over Time

A past photo of President Uhuru Kenyatta has continued to elicit mixed reactions and uproar among Kenyans.

In the TBT photo posted by one of Twitter users, the head of state is seen campaigning in one of the Kenyan towns amid moderately heavy rainfall.

What is more attention-capturing is the prices of fuel captured in the background. At that time, the prices of fuel were as low as 103 per litre.

However, with time, the prices of fuel and other petroleum products have skyrocketed making life difficult for ordinary Kenyans.

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) recently announced an increase in petroleum products prices.

In this new regulation, the prices of kerosene, diesel, and super petrol Sh. 5.41, Sh. 5.75, and Sh. 7.63 respectively.

This move has made Kenyans complain of high standards of living. Many citizens have however reflected on how the Jubilee government has taken them so far.
