Last night Babu Owino released a video that has warmed the hearts of many Kenyans amid the current economic and security challenges experienced by all Kenyans under the Kenya Kwanza administration. His message comes at a time when Kenyans are calling for alternative leadership by the Azimio coalition led by Raila Odinga to ease their burdens, citing the failure of the incumbent administration to heed their struggles.

In the viral video, Babu Owino sent his congratulatory message to the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) students who passed the tests. He also encouraged those who never attained their desired marks to soldier on as there is more to life and many opportunities to succeed again.

VIDEO: Babu Owino's message to Kenyans

“Thank you very much fellow Kenyans. I'm Babu Owino, Member of Parliament for Embakasi East Constituency. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate our candidates and our learners who sat for the examinations, the KCPE examinations that were released yesterday. Congratulations on having passed these exams with flying colors. You have to know that success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts,” Babu Owino said.

“For those candidates who never scored the marks that they intended to get as a brother, as a younger sister, I want to tell you that in life, you can fail but that does not mean that it is the end of you. Embrace yourself and get up from the ground. Do not stay on the ground because an enemy will bury you on the ground. You're closer to the ground, fight your way up. You have another golden opportunity to make it in high school, because all of you, there's a 100% transition to high school, therefore you can still make it. Even in life, there are several people who failed and later on succeeded. J. K. Rollins failed and succeeded. Michael Jordan lost hundreds and hundreds of games. But he said that 'I failed over and over again and that's why I succeed',” he continued with his speech.

“Do not let your failures define you, but let your failure teach you. I know, as Babu Owino, I will proceed with you from primary school to high school. I'll be proceeding with my tutorials. I'll be teaching you what you need in life. I'll be walking across the country to teach from class four, all the way to form four. And I believe that we shall make it together. If I made it, you can make it. Tibbim! Merry Christmas to all Kenyans and a Happy New Year. Asanteni,” Hon. Babu Owino concluded.

The legislator has won the hearts of many Kenyans with his message as he expressed his desire to see every child succeed in life. Below are some of the reactions from social media users on Facebook:
