Interior CS Fred Matiang’i is in the Middle East, delivering President Uhuru Kenyatta’s special message to the Qatar Prime Minister. Sources revealed that Uhuru's trusted CS was sent by President Uhuru Kenyatta with a special message to Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
“Our governments are on course to sign a comprehensive security agreement anchored on mutual interests,” Matiang’i said after meeting with Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa. Speaking on the visit, Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna said Matiang'i was sent to deliver a 'special' message from the president. Oguna later twitted that Kenya and Qatar enjoy a rich history of cooperation in strategic and geopolitical interests, bilateral relations in trade and mutual. This is another big lose to Deputy President as most of the duties being assigned to Matiang’i are in his docket.
This journey comes after The Interior CS was in Zambia to meet newly-elected President Hakainde Hichilema.
