The four Independent Election and Boundaries Commission officials that is, Irene Masit, Juliana Cherera, Justus Nyangaya and Francis Wanderi were suspended pending the tribunal decision. Constitutionally, the tribunal must act expeditiously and table a report to the president who will act on its recommendations within 30 days.

Should the tribunal found the four commissioners guilty, the President shall dismiss the three officials except Justus Nyangaya who resigned few days ago. According to a post shared by Kenyans.co.ke on twitter, the commissioners will however not lose pension even on their dismissal due to ruling by the Employement and Labour Relations Court.

There dismissal or retention in the election body is still pending following the ongoing scrutiny by the tribunal.
