Kitui Central MP Benson Makali Mulu has reacted after President William Ruto termed the Hustler Fund as a success.

In a joint media interview on Wednesday night, the President said the small loan scheme he launched over a month ago has been beneficial to thousands of Kenyans saying use of technology has been the cause of its accomplishment.

"Hustler Fund is anchored in law. All the resources that are being used in the Hustler Fund are public resources. The success of the fund is the benefit we gain from digitisation and technology," he said.

"I decided that we are going to use the benefit of technology to run this Hustler Fund and that is why it is successful," the President added.

Makali noted the loans were being disbursed in an opaque manner and wondered how Auditor General Nancy Gathungu will audit the fund.

"Listening to the President respond to questions on hustler fund and my brain immediately wonders how the Auditor General will audit these public resources where you only need three things yourself, mobile phone and service provider. Madam Auditor General kazi kwako," the MP tweeted.
