Kenya is headed to another general election come August ninth this year. This is per the stipulation and dictates of the Constitution. As political temperatures continue to rise,it has seemingly emerged that the presidential contest is likely to be a two-horse race pitting Deputy President William Samoei Ruto against Orange Democratic Movement Party leader and former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
With Raila expected to use his Azimio La Umoja Movement, several political parties are expected to be encompassed under this broad umbrella.Parties like Jubilee,DAP-K,PNU,Muungano Party,PAA among others are expected to formally work under the Azimio La Umoja umbrella.
With Ruto previously perceived to have settled on his UDA party, things seem to be gradually changing. It has emerged that a new political Alliance has been birthed.During their Wednesday rally in Nakuru,DP Ruto announced that his UDA party,ANC of Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya of Moses Masika Wetangula would formally work under Kenya Kwanza Alliance which is yet to be registered by the Registrar of Political Parties.People Daily News has established this.
It has emerged that the name was silently coined by Mudavadi and deposited to the Registrar of Political Parties few days before quiting One Kenya Alliance. This new outfit is equally likely to bring more political players and like-minded partners on board among the Moses Kuria of Chama cha Kazi.
Kenya Kwanza Alliance is likely to take Azimio La Umoja Movement head on with each camp seen as formidable and iron-like.Who would emerge victorious at the end?
