After the Supreme Court of Kenya made her ruling yesterday the 5th of September, 2022 on the presidential election, we have witnessed varying responses. Today, the four dissenting commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission including their spokeswoman Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Julius Nyang'aya have come to share their opinion.
Through a press statement, they collectively wish to convey their appreciation to the honourable judges of the court and confirmed that they respect their unanimous decision. They also stated that they agree with the statement of the chairperson of the IEBC which was sent to the media yesterday.
They wished to reiterate that they stand by the rule of the law and statuses that promote the effectiveness of the work of the commission. A lot of people are persuaded that the four will later confess to being intimidated to disrupt what was initially regarded as one of the best elections Kenya ever held.
