Details have now emerged on why Meru County Members of County Assembly are pushing for the impeachment of Area Governor Honourable Kawira Mwangaza.
In a statement via Nation on Twitter, in an affidavit that was filed by Jude Karole, it's alleged that many politicians from Meru vowed that the county will never be led by a woman and so is the reason behind the plot to impeach Mwangaza.
According to Karole, the motion mover, Dennis Kiogora, who is an MCA for Abogeta West Ward, said that before the August General Elections, she urged Meru residents not to elect Honourable Mwangaza due to her gender.

"He warned the electorate that if they made the mistake of electing her, then he would ensure that she is impeached soon after assuming office," said the petitioner through her lawyer Ndegwa Njiru.
"It is only today (Tuesday) that they were holding the public participation forum in one location, yet Meru has a population of over one million people," the statement read further.
