According to Taifa Leo reports, Oparanya claims that he abandoned his presidential bid even after paying for his bid in the ODM party. But after announcing that he's eyeing for presidential seat. He received a phone call from Uhuru Kenyatta. Requesting Oparanya to meet with Uhuru at Mombasa state house.
Kakamega county governor added that, he went ahead and met with president Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa state lodge. And Uhuru urged him to abandon his bid and endorse ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
"Rais alinishawishi ni jiondoe kwenye kinyaganyiro cha uraisi. Ni unge mkono Raila Odinga ambaye alisema ni yeye mgombea wa kiti hicho", says Oparanya.
