The deputy inspector general of national police service Noor Gabow has landed a new powerful government position according to a report by The Star.
According to the publication, a meeting held at State House and chaired by president William Ruto resolved that the seasoned police officer will take over the role of heading and overseeing operation Maliza uhalifu North Rift.
It was agreed that the first phase of the operation had been hampered by poor coordination, especially because of the fact that it is a multi agency security operation.
Ministry of interior and national administration cabinet secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki will announce the appointment of Noor Gabow to the role later on today when he is expected to issue a press conference.

The appointment of Noor as the commander comes few days after ministry of defence cabinet secretary Aden Duale paid a visit to the counties affected by banditry to understand the progress of the operation.
