Governor Ongwae responds to claims of ditching ODM for KSC party to vie for Kisii senatorial seat

Yesterday it was rumoured that Kisii governor James Ongwae had ditched his ODM party to Kenya Social congress party. It was also said that the two term governor is eyeing for Kisii senatorial seat on the party ticket.

Today governor James Ongwae has responded to the claims of his defection from ODM party to Kenya Social congress party. The two term governor dismissed those claims and confirmed that he is fully behind Raila Odinga presidential bid.

" Laughable, baseless imaginations that cannot blur my commitment to our course- The 5th" wrote Kisii governor James Ongwae on his official Facebook page.

Governor James Ongwae also said that he is not eyeing for Kisii senatorial seat as alleged. He said that he has served his people well and time to exit is ripe.

" I have served by people well and time to exit is ripe" added governor James Ongwae.

Mr. James Ongwae is one of the trusted and loyal lieutenants of former prime minister Raila Odinga in larger Gusii community. He was elected both in 2013 and 2017 polls on a ODM party ticket. He is currently the chairman of ODM party in larger Nyanza region.
