With August general elections approaching, different politicians are aligning themselves with different alliances. Those close to ODM party leader Raila Odinga, have been seen associating with Azimio la Umoja.
On the other hand Ruto's close associates have been drumming up support for United Democratic Alliance. As these top politicians continue to hold their campaigns, Kenyans have been asking who these two might pick as their running mates. Let's look at Ruto's proposed running mates.
1. Anne Waiguru
The Kirinyaga county governor has emerged as potential running mate to the deputy president. This is following her move in the recent months to join United Democratic Alliance.
The Mathira member of parliament has been labeled the favorite to be Ruto's running mate. His immense support for the deputy president has added to his chances of being the second in command should Ruto become president.
3. Moses Kuria
The Gatundu south member of parliament is another top politician to appear in potential lists of being the deputy president. Despite being unwell in the recent months, he cannot be ruled out yet.
4. Justin Muturi
Despite being allied to One Kenya Alliance, the national assembly's speaker is another potential running mate for Ruto. Politics is a dynamic thing and anything could change soon. He can still be considered as Ruto's potential running mate.
