The entry of Musalia Mudavadi on President William Ruto's camp earlier this year, did not sit well with then Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, the now deputy president, who insisted that the running mate position was reserved for Mt Kenya Region.
Fast forward to after the elections, Ruto was vocal in assigning and spelling out the duties of Gachagua as the DP, and Musalia as the Prime Cabinet Secretary, a move that political experts say has been successfully made, since if it was not, at now we would be witnessing supremacy battle between the two.
According to Political, Communication Expert and Moi University Senior Lecturer Masibo Lumala, Ruto has managed to successfully make Gachagua and Musalia comfortable in the Kenya Kwanza Government, in that he has give each space and has appeared as giving a listening ear to both.
"Gachagua and Mudavadi are in the same government working under Dr Ruto. The President has succeeded to manage their differences now, but it is too early to make such a conclusion, since we have not seen the two together as many times as we have seen the two leaders with the President separately."
In the latest instance, Musalia accompanied Ruto to the US, while Gachagua was left running the country and some of the key activities he did was launching Nairobi-Kakamega flight as well as Niarobi-Dubai direct flights among activities.
