Deputy president William Ruto's ally from Meru county, Senator Mithika Linturi has alleged that crucial bills are passed at night in parliament when there is no quorum as required under the law.
According to Mithika Linturi, all the mischievous legislations presented to Parliament is passed at night because that time there will be no checks.
"Oversight & legislative roles of Members of Parliament are very compromised by the Executive. Crucial bills are decided at night so that there is no quorum. Mischievous legislation is passed at night without checks"Sen. Mithika Linturi: #DayBreak https://t.co/ppIOGTQxtf
He has also alleged that the Executive arm of government under president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta has been compromising the legislative role of the Parliament as we as the oversight to the same arm.
This means that most of the decisions of parliament are normally hijacked by the Executive which limits the time of the Kenyan Parliament in ensuring they keep the Executive to it toes.
The new revelation comes just a day after the House leadership in the senate was changed after Irungu Kang'ata was accused of being disloyal and having been accused of gross misconduct.
