Miguna Leaves the Country for London a Month After Returning From Exile

After returning to Kenya a month ago, controversial attorney Miguna Miguna has left the country by plane.

Miguna posted a series of updates on social media on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, announcing his departure from Kenya for London, United Kingdom (UK).

"Destination London. I will shortly return! "Viva!" shared Miguna.

Miguna noted that President William Ruto had left Kenya more than 15 times since taking office, and in a subsequent post, he requested the freedom to do as he pleases with regard to entering and leaving the nation.

After being forced into exile for four years, Miguna Miguna returned to Kenya on October 20, 2022. The fiery attorney was welcomed by friends and family at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Following his participation in the informal swearing-in of opposition leader Raila Odinga as "the people's president" back in 2018, Miguna was deported to Canada, where he is also a citizen.

Former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i stated Miguna needed to complete a one-page form in order to re-register for Kenyan citizenship in April of this year at a media appearance.

According to the new constitution, the lawyer could only arrange his return journey in that way. However, all of the limitations against Miguna were lifted by the new administration of President William Ruto.
