With the August elections approaching, political candidates vying for a political seat are busy crossing the country as they popularize their candidates.Mizani Africa conducted a survey on the popularity of political candidates ahead of the election in August.
According to the latest opinion polls for the Taita Taveta county governor race, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate, Hon John Murutu, has been eliminated by the candidate of the Holy Year, Hon. Granton Samboja, the incumbent. According to the polls, Hon Samboja is liked 49.2% while Hon Mrutu follows with 22.1%. The gap between Governor Samboja and Hon Mrutu is currently 27.1%.
The coastal area voted overwhelmingly for the ODM party in the last general election and so the fact that the Jubilee party in Azimio, the Umoja One Kenya Alliance can be attributed to the huge popularity of the Governor of Samboja.
