Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza was impeached by the county MCA's over last week. This now means all her hopes lie in the senate. The senate can decide to uphold her nomination if they feel the ground's for her impeachment hold water, or can decide to give her back her job.
There are two possible outcomes, upholding of her impeachment or going back to office. So incase the senate agrees with the MCA's then it means the deputy governor will automatically take over and appoint his own deputy. Interestingly the constitution doesn't tie the shortcomings of the governor to their deputies despite both being elected together.Isaac Mutuma now has the limelight on himself with the ongoing uncertainties. He is the current deputy governor. Mutuma is a man of God with the Methodist church in Kenya. He is a former prison's officer and a son to late Njuri Ncheke Chairman Paul M'Ethingia. He is the current Meru county Health CEC after MCA's rejected a majority of Mwangaza's appointment.
The DG has decried lack of experience in leadership when he took over but had acknowledged that the call to serve was from God. Both were elected on an independent ticket, the only one in mount Kenya. For now, all eyes on the deputy.
