"He Should be Credited" Makali Alleges How Ruto Has Changed Kenyan Politics & Why Polls May Favor Him

Political and Policy Expert David Makali has now argued that Deputy President William Ruto has managed to change the politics of this country, by bringing on board issues-based campaigns compared to the past elections when tribe was the key demography.

In his view, Makali says that the DP's move to champion for the bottom-up economic model, and traverse across the country siting down and listening to what the ordinary Kenyan in the village and ward level has to say, as something that might work in his favour come August.

In his Monday's interview with K24 TV, Makali said that at the moment Kenyans want to hear what the next government will do, and share their plight with the presidential candidates, and that was what Ruto has been doing.

"We must credit William Ruto by pushing to have this election issues-based. His campaigns going in to the counties and trying to bring out the issues and put them on the table for the next administration, is something that must be applauded," he said.

"I think his strategy has done a better job than what Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance has done in trying to bring the votes home," he added.
