NEWS: Wajackoyah Names New Deputy Party Leader for Roots Party

The Roots Party, led by Prof. George Wajackoyah, has revealed reforms to its management structure.

The new officials and the positions they would be filling were disclosed by the party in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 30. The party disclosed that Yagnik Vinod Ramji will serve as the Deputy Party leader in place of Justina Wamae. The Party appointed Janet Akinyi Odhiambo as the new vice national chairperson and Naran Velji Arjan as its new Chief Executive Officer as reported by

"After a decision by the Roots Party National Executive Committee (NEC), in a meeting conducted at the party headquarters, we affirm the election of new party leaders," the announcement stated.

Justina Wamae, Wajackoyah's disgruntled running mate, was conspicuously absent from the list. A week prior, Wajackoyah had called Wamae in for a disciplinary hearing. Wamae was called to testify in response to claims that she had made disparaging and conflicting statements against the Roots Party.

Wamae brushed off the notice and said she wouldn't react to such petty behavior. Later, she declared that she was prepared to attend the hearing. However, Mrs. Wamae enquired if the organizations mentioned on the summons would appear before the panel to question her.

"I assume that the cloned parties would appear as representatives of the disciplinary panel," She said cynically.

Wamae encountered a strong police presence when she arrived for the hearing, and she was not allowed access to the party's headquarters. The police officers guarding the entrance prevented her from accessing the premises. Reports revealed that nothing much was happening at the headquarters.

Wamae was seen engaging her team on the best course of action while also being aware that her rapport with Wajackoyah had become worse.
