This is after President Uhuru Kenyatta made a promise to help Members of the County Assembly achieve their demand for a Sh2 million car grant each.
Ali said that if MCAs are being given Sh2 million as a way to motivate them to support the BBI document, then every Kenyan should ask to be given Sh4 million.
The lawmaker who is an ally of DP Ruto opposed the document saying that BBI will create position for ten people only adding that Kenyans will not benefit from it.
“BBI is meant to create positions for ten people and not ordinary Kenyans. MCAs are being given Sh2 million which is against the constitution to pass BBI in 24 counties. Because MCAs are be given Sh2 million then Kenyans should ask for Sh4 million each if you are asked to support the BBI,” said Ali.
The MP’s call for every Kenyan to be given Sh4 million comes just barely a day after Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said that every Kenyan should be given at least Sh10,000 before they are asked to support the document.
President Uhuru suffered attacks especially from leaders allied to the deputy president who accused him of offering the MCAs from Mt Kenya region a bribe in form of car grants during their recent meeting in order for them to support the BBI report.
Ruto has opposed the BBI report saying it will benefit a few individuals adding that Kenyans do not need it claiming it is a waste of time and public resources.
