Ruto will heavily rely on the strategies of two of Africa's most illustrious political parties to devise a winning strategy for the 2022 General Election.
In order to win over the masses, the UDA plans to design a campaign strategy similar to that of South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) and Tanzania's Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
The ANC and CCM both have strong grassroots structures that aid in the mobilization of members and potential voters, a system that UDA hopes to implement ahead of next year's elections.
According to UDA chairman Johnson Muthama, they have borrowed ANC and CCM structures because they make it easier to engage with voters at the sub-location level and above.
UDA will use social media and grassroots campaign teams to popularize the party and market Dr. Ruto's policies. They also intend to use the Church to reach out to the general public.
Mr Muthama stated that the DP camp is banking on the country's segmentation in order to capture the people's economic aspirations.
“We have identified the requirements in each region. When we form the government, we will not embark on projects that are not required by the people,” said the former Machakos Senator.
