With Eugene Wamalwa, the patron of the DAP party, just announcing that he will be running against President William Ruto in the 2027 Presidential elections, the political landscape for that year is starting to take shape.
The prominent Azimio figure who had backed Raila Odinga in the most recent general elections has now announced his return to politics after serving in the government for ten years.
In the administration of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Eugene Wamalwa held the position of Cabinet Secretary for Defense. His party, DAP Kenya, has now endorsed Eugene Wamalwa to run for President in the general elections of 2027.
"We have had a good chat with our leadership that after we conclude our NDC you will be having a presidential candidate of DAP Kenya. Iam truly honoured that my colleagues have requested me and that since the 10 years I have worked with as cabinet secretary of different sectors,iam now back to politics." Eugene Wamalwa said.
