Hon. Peter Opondo Kaluma who is the current Member of Parliament of Homabay Town has requested Mr. Odinga to hold a meeting together with Dr. Ruto to make the electoral reforms. In his quest, the renowned MP has stated categorically that the only way to solve the problem that is experienced after every election is through a holding a consultative meeting and coming up with better ideas.
His request comes just days before President Ruto makes the appointment of the Independent Election and Boundaries Commissioner (s) (IEBC). From the current construction of Kenya, Dr. Ruto is vested with the power to appoint the IEBC Commissioners but Mr. Odinga feels this should be changed and that better ways could be used to appoint the commissioners that would result to transparency in the general elections.
Yesterday 9th March, 2023, the former Prime Minister officially launched his attack to remove Ruto from the office from what he said that his government has failed to ensure that the cost of living is lowered. Odinga's mass action could hinder Ruto's government from meeting it's promises to Kenyas as the pressure to impeach him increases.
