Ruto Given Early Warning, Told Why he Won't be President Even After Winning in 2022

ODM leader Raila Odinga should not be fooled that President Uhuru Kenyatta is on his side, as the Head of State is ready and mighr discard him at any time, political analyst Martin Andati has said.

Lately, analysts have been suggesting that Uhuru has already betrayed Raila, which is the reason behind his alleged association with the One Kenya Alliance.

But this was to some extent erased on Thursday, when the two addressed the nation from the State House, after a joint tour of the city, reversing the unease among Raila's allies and supporters.

Andati, however, says that Uhuru has already betrayed Raila, the same thing he has done to his (Uhuru) own Deputy William Ruto, whom he has fallen out with.

The commentator is of the opinion that whatever Uhuru is doing now, in an apparent bid to appease Raila, is only to help him buy time, after which he will publicly cut links with the former Premier.

“They have been played. Raila has been screwed, so is Ruto,” he told The Star newspaper on Saturday.

He has faulted Raila for dropping his initial push for reforms at the national poll agency, saying that it is the same blunder that will be used to punish him should he run for presidency in 2022.

For him, even if Raila were to join hands with Ruto, the two would still lose even if they have the numbers, as the state will use dirty political tricks to rig them out.

“The system will use the IEBC to lock them out of power," he is further quoted. He also opines that it is now upon the two to decide whether to be hanged separately or together.

Already the DP has given indications that he wouldn't mind working with Raila, stating that they both agree on the need for creation of political parties with a national outlook.

Some allies of Raila have also said that there is nothing that would prevent the two, who were allies before and shortly after the 2007 general polls, from reuniting.
