Graça Machel is a widow of both the first President of Mozambique Samora Machel and South African President Nelson Mandela. She was Samora's wife until his death in 1986 following a fatal plane crash in South Africa.

Shortly after the death of his husband, Graça Machel broke the world history for being the only woman having married to two Presidents. She was married to the former South African President Nelson Mandela at his 80th birthday celebrations.
