Former prime minister Raila Odinga has again suffered the second humiliation yesterdayday in his endeavours of climbing Mt Kenya region as another ugly incident happened to him.
This follows after a second of Githurai market in Kiambu booed him by chanting deputy president Dr William Ruto's name as a way of sending a coded message to him that they supported the country's in command's 2022 State House bid.
In a video that did rounds on Facebook on Monday evening, a group of residents, mostly men, were seen recording the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader's address while shouting "Ruto". Link: https://www.facebook.com/100044314699995/posts/415849019902251/?app=fbl
"Ruto sana" one of the locals was overhead shouting.
This comes moments after Raila witnessed another incident similar to the aforementioned while he was at Sagana area in Kieni constituency, Nyeri county. The former prime minister's speech was also disrupted by Pro-UDA chanting youths who blew trumpets during his address.
The ODM chief Kick-started his journey to climb the mountain on Sunday when he, together with his brigade attended a PCEA church service in Nanyuki town. He was accompanied by ODM officials and Members of Parliament among them Junet Mohammed (Suna East), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay), Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Director of Communications Philip Etale and others.
They later addressed the residents. The host governor Nderitu Muriithi and other Laikipia politicians joined him.
On Monday, Raila held a press at Sagana lounge where he was joined by some Mt Kenya governors and other leaders. Later on, he hit the road by touring the area, then to Mathira constituency and finally, he pitched camp in Githurai in the boarder between Kiambu and Nairobi counties.
