Kenya Kwanza team led by president William Ruto managed beat Azimio camp to win the top positions in the Senate. They won the position of the speaker and deputy speaker, majority whip and the majority leader is also from Kenya Kwanza.

The former majority leader of the senate Kipchumba Murkomen symbolically handed over his office to the new majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot.
The Kericho county senator was declared as the leader of majority in the Senate by speaker Amason Kingi. He will be deputized by Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja.

Murkomen is currently the CS nominee for the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Public works. When handing over the office he recalled the events that happened to him and his staff members two years ago.
“Two years ago my staff and I were hurriedly bundled out of the office of the majority Leader. Today I had the opportunity to decently hand over the office to the new majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot,” he said.
