Distraught Chapchap Candidate Avoids Media as he Casts his Vote

The voting process to find the next Machakos senator has ended.

Maendeleo chap chap candidate Mutua Katuku who stepped down from the race a few days ago cast his vote at Nthwanguu nursery school a few minutes to 5 pm.

Katuku who seemed dissatisfied refused to address the media.

He was accompanied by secretary general for People's trust party Joseph Mathuki.

Katuku even refused to address a crowd that gathered at the entrance by promised to do so when the time is right.

A spot check conducted by Opera news established Katuku's home turf recorded the lowest voter turn out in the whole county.

Also most of his voters did not cast their vote.

"I was ready to vote for him and when I hears he has withdrawn from the race I was greatly disturbed. To be honest I did not cast my vote today and so is my family. We are praying for Katuku," said a voter.

Other candidates in the race cast their votes today where they all exuded confidence of clinching the most sought-after seat.

The voting process started at 6 am and ended at 5 pm in all the polling stations.

The counting of ballots set to begin anytime.
