The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission boss Wafula Chebukati today received the first batch of ballot papers at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport under tight security.
Political parties handed over lists of their nominated candidates for various positions to the Commission only a week ago. The commission gave a four day window for parties to make any changes to the list until last week Tuesday.
IEBC was the expected to gazette all qualified candidates before the printing of the papers could start. Ironically, the first badge of ballot papers has already arrived in the country without gazettement of candidates

Addressing members of KEPSA ealier today, Chebukati did give any reason why the printing of the papers began before gazettement of names.
Chebukati however assured Kenyans tat no extra ballot papers will be printed neither will other papers enter the country the Kenya Uganda border. The second batch will soon arrive in the country.
