As Kenya gradually strides towards the eagerly awaited August ninth general elections, two political formations have conspicuously emerged as the strongest and fiercest as far as the presidential contest is concerned. Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition party led by ODM party leader Raila Amolo Odinga and Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by Deputy President William Samoei Ruto are these two most formidable outfits.
With Ruto and Raila perceived to be the two leading presidential contenders, the forthcoming presidential contest has been narrowed down to a two-horse race pitting the duo. Despite the duo being the front-runners,there are speculations that Wiper party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka may throw himself into the presidential ring should Raila fail to pick him as his running mate.
In what has seemingly come out as a good news to Azimio, latest opinion poll according to The Star Kanya has put it far ahead of Kenya Kwańza as far as the Nairobi Women Representative seat's contest is concerned.
According to this poll released on Friday, Azimio candidate Esther Passaris could show Millicent Omanga dust in the race should elections be held today. Passaris could gearner 54.4% with Omanga trailing with a paltry 27.5%.Othe candidates would collectively get 0.6% of the votes with 12.3 % still seem to be undecided on their preffered choice. 5.3% said they won't vote.
