After years, months, weeks and days of spirited campaigns, the self-crowned chief hustler_William Samoei Ruto is hours if not days away from knowing if his name will be written and mentioned alongside Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta's.
Ruto is among the two presidential contenders whose winning odds look practical and probable. Now that IEBC team is on it's waning phase of tallying and verifying the poll outcome, will Samoei's statehouse bid break? Well, not exactly, that's according to Hassan Joho's political projection.
Speaking with Kenyans.Co.ke journalist on Saturday at the Bomas of Kenya, the outgoing Mombasa county boss affirmed his conviction that the coveted crown is but a preserve of Azimio leader_Raila Odinga.
Addressing leaders elected on Azimio party tickets earlier on at KICC, Joho assured leaders affiliated to the party and supporters that their preliminary results indicates ODM boss is a stride away from clinching presidency.
Assuming Joho's words will come to pass, UDA leader who has hitherto billed self Raila's political antidote will be but the leader of opposition whose mandate entails keeping the government of the day on it's toes. Now that the entire poll exercise is a on it's dissipating phase, will Jakom absolve Joho by trouncing Ruto? Well, time will tell.
