The Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Wachira Kiago has recalled how the William Ruto camp had created a fertile ground for sowing seeds of revolt against the former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"The truth is that Uhuru had sacrificed for the nation and his region but there was a lot of propaganda and outright lies. He was condemned on any imaginable ground and it seemed true because he was the one in power," Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Wachira Kiago said as he tried to explain what made Uhuru lose grip of his Mount Kenya region.
Wachira Kiago now sympathies with the former President Uhuru Kenyatta saying he did well considering how he dealt with the new constitutional order, the international financial meltdown, the Covid-19 pandemic, and William Ruto-led rebellion.
According to Wachira Kiago, due to the economic sting that the population was feeling, it was simple for the William Ruto and his team to de-campaign his boss.
However, Kiago has issued a warning to Mount Kenya region against disregarding the former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s place in history of the region and the nation at large. According to Kiago it would be dangerous for the mountain to disregard Uhuru Kenyatta’s efforts.
"The biggest mistake for the mountain will be seeking to disregard Uhuru's place in our history," Kiago warned.
