The former Gishugu member of Parliament hon Martha Karua has come out to advise kenyans to invest in the country in order to promote economic development. In a tweeter account Karua alleged that a leader especially in third world countries who stashes money abroad knowingly undermines economic growth of his country.Karua who has been a very vocal and influential leader in Mt Kenya and the entire country feels that leaders should embrace their country and steer economic growth. She feels that those leaders that promotes economic development in other countries at the expense of their mother country are not patriotic. She goes ahead to allege that leaders in developing countries should invest their wealth in their countries.
This comes amid hightening political temperatures in the country over the exposure of uhuru's wealth in foreign accounts. Several leaders have weigh into the matter claiming that president Kenyatta should come out and be clear to kenyans on the same issue. However, president Uhuru Kenyatta promised to address the issue after he comes from the foreign trip.
