The Kenya Power and Lighting Company will be undertaking scheduled routine repairs on their lines in Mombasa and Kilifi County.
A notice released by KP&LC indicates that the following areas will be affected:
The busy industrial area of Kibarani in Mombasa County covering Kibarani Dairy, MICD, Mitchell Cotts, Kenya Meat Commission, Delta, Makupa Transit Shades, Civicon and adjacent customers will be affected.
Power Outages begin from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday 19th March 2021.
Similarly in Kilifi County the area of Kuruwitu and Vipingo which hosts a high number of tourist outlets will experience the Outages. Specifically affected will be Vipingo Market, Vipingo Slaughter House, Vipingo Development, Kapecha, Shariani Market, Vipingo Makaburini and adjacent customers.
In these areas power Outages will last from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Efforts to set up a 600megawatts coal power station in the Vipingo area as an alternative power source are underway. In other areas of the country KP&LC has met renewed challenges from installation of solar power energy.
