The storm in the mountain could be headed to cool down after revelations that President Uhuru wants to unite the waring factions. The vote rich Mt Kenya region had been split into two factions. One faction supports the deputy president while the other supports the deputy president. However, the political noise has caught the attention of the president's attention. It is now alleged that the president is planning to hold a meeting with both Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke leaders from Mt Kenya to cool the political temperatures.
The Mathira member of parliament, Rigathi Gachagwa, has confirmed that he has received the invitation to attend the meeting. Speaking to the nation media today, he declared his stand on what he will do during the meeting. "If the president has decided to come back home, let him come, he is our own. We are ready to meet and have a word with him. If he has awakened to the political realities, and wants to engage us, we are very ready." Said the mp.
The lawmaker who is allied to DP Ruto's team added that the Tanga Tanga wing will only listen to the president if he will talk about matters economy and not whom to support in 2022. "If he calls and tells us to abandon William Ruto, we will not accept. We are only available if he wants us to support him in reviving the economy, and safeguarding his legacy."
