Albeit of his 2017 political nemeses namely Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto asserting in public rallies that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party mandarin_Raila Odinga' s political magazine had run dry of shots, the veteran dissaproved many when he assembled a behemoth political machine dubbed Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition which subsequently gave UDA leader a run for his money.
Despite of staging a well oiled and coordinated campaign against the self professed chief hustler, Raila failed to impress during poll and he is hitherto serving as the official chief opposition leader.
Speaking at a church service in Embu over the weekend, Rigathi Gachagua made a revelation citing that the former premier is plotting to deploy underhand tactics to be part of Ruto' s Kenya Kwanza government.
The deputy president' s remarks came after the opposition leader vowed to rally his supporters to oppose Ruto' s government over claims that it has failed to cushion Kenyans from economic turmoils, deliberate weakening of independent institutions, GMO maize controversy among other errs that have hitherto berangued Ruto' s government.
According to Rigathi' s theorem, Raila is threatening to call for demonstrations to coerce Ruto into negotiation, that way, he will practically be an outsider in government the very way he found self after the historic 2018 handshake.
Raila has severally been accused of stirring political waters to coerce sitting president to renegotiate. After the dramatic 2017 poll, Jakom rallied NASA supporters to oppose Uhuru' s re- election terming the election as mockery to democracy.
Jakom refused to take part in re- election over claims that his by then irreducible minimums were not met but IEBC conducted the poll anyway. What followed was weekly demos led by NASA brigade which nearly polarized the country but Uhuru' s prompt move to seek audience with Raila eased tensions and accelerated peace. Will Ruto flaunt Raila through an handshake? well, time will tell.
