The former senator for Migori county Mr Ochillo Ayacko is a happy man after winning his first gubernatorial race which was also tightly contested with Mr John pesa who is a former area member of Parliament for Rongo subcounty.Ochillo Ayacko was endorsed by Azimio la Umoja's Orange Democratic Movement party while his closest rival Mr John pesa was endorsed by DAP-KENYA party.
The former senator garnered a total of 175,340 votes beating Mr John Pesa who trailed closely with a total of 126,598 votes while Dalmas Otieno who was an independent candidate trailed third with 17,670 total votes casted.Migori county gubernatorial race was a very contested race because for one reason it had a whooping nine candidate who were all salivating for that top seat.Among the nine include Paul Mwite who was being seen in the ballots for a record breaking nine times within an election period of the fifth time.
Yesterday it was all jubilations in Migori County for Ochillo Ayacko as his supporters and closest allies had anticipated his victory for that top county seat.He had several campaign vans moving across the county with an obviously joyful crowd singing songs of praises for the 49 year old. This therefore means that Mr Ochillo Ayacko was victorious over his nine competitor who the closest he defeated with more than 20,000 votes while he trippled the least of his competitors.
The other competitors still have a chance to deny the election results because the law of the land still gives them the right to amend the victory in a court of all.Assuming they take the case to a court of law it will mean that the swearing in ceremony for the former senator will have to be pushed to a later date as they waite the court ruling.
