Rigathi Gachagua Under Fire For Profiling Kalenjin Youths, Told Of The Consequences Of His Talk

Political players are busy traveling the nation as election season approaches to promote their platforms and goals in advance of the much anticipated general election in August.

Kenyan deputy presidential candidate of Kwanza Rigathi Gachagua has sparked controversy on social media following the spread of his remarks about the Kalenjin youth.

Speaking at a rally while touring Rift Valley, Gachagua urged the Kalenjin youth cattle rustlers to stop the practice.

While speaking Gachagua said "Our youth in the Kalenjin community, who love to steal cattle, we ask you to stop this practice and allow everyone to look after their livestock. Our young people of Kalenjinn, let us stop the practice of cattle theft in other communities. Let us respect each other and let everyone enjoy their wealth".

The speeches have sparked a heated debate on social media with Kenyans removing different views from them.

While a section of the Kenyan community accused Gachagua by writing down details of members of the Kalenjin community, others came to his defense claiming that he was giving father-like advice.
