Analysts Reveal Blunder Made by Those Who Organised DP William Ruto's Travel to UK and US

Experts have on Sunday disclosed that the Deputy President William Ruto's trip to the United States of America as well as the United Kingdom was poorly planned.

According to analysts, those organising the Deputy President William Ruto's trip did not prepare him well for some of the questions that he would face from international media stations.

"The difficulty that Dr. Ruto faced in answering some of the questions clearly showed that he was not well prepared. It is a situation that has portrayed him as a leader who hides certain truths, ”said Mr Wycliffe Muga, a political analyst while being interviewed by Taifa Jumapili.

They say he appeared to be a hypocrite, as despite portraying himself as a victim of political betrayal, his case is still pending in the International Criminal Court (ICC), where he is accused of bribing and intimidating witnesses.

"Dr Ruto forgot that the audience he would meet overseas was different from the one he was used to in Kenya. In contrast to Kenya, people living abroad follow the developments in the country in depth, so it was expected that he would be asked serious questions, ”said Prof Macharia Munene, a lecturer in History and International Relations at USIU University, Nairobi.

Considering that Mr Odinga is also scheduled to pay a visit to the UK soon, where he will also deliver speeches on various platforms, analysts say he may have slammed Dr Ruto for referring to "shortcomings" in his (Ruto) speeches.

They say the rivalry between Dr Ruto and Mr Odinga is to gain international support, with Mr Odinga appearing to be ahead compared to (Ruto).

"Mr Odinga is Africa's Special Envoy for Infrastructure. On the other hand, President Kenyatta has garnered immense popularity at the international level due to the efforts he has taken to elevate the status of speech and influence of Kenya. Those are the two issues that put Mr Odinga ahead of Dr Ruto, ”said Mr Muga.

However, Dr Ruto's allies consider the visit to be of great political significance to him.
